Fourth generation mobile telecommunications technology is called short in the fourth generation or 4G. A 4G system can provide fast mobile web access, IP telephony, gaming services, high-definition mobile TV, video conferencing, 3D television, and cloud computing services. A user who uses 4G networks gets 5-7 times or more faster speed compared to the 3G network.
What is 4G
4G Network, is 4G’s Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM), is the main reason of fast speed compared to 3G. This is the same technology that is used in Wi-Fi, ADSL broadband, digital TV and radio. OFDM is a technique in which more data squeeze (manage to get in or compress) is done in the same amount of radio frequency. With this, it also reduces latency and interference, and the data is split and sent to parallel small chunks of frequency so that the capacity of the network is increased and we get more fast and clear data quality.
Another reason for fast speed in 4G is multi-input and multi-output, or MIMO. In this, multiple antenna arrays are used in transmitter and receiver side to improve communication performance. It allows for more data transfer without any additional bandwidth or more power.
When you go to another country with your 4G network, your 4G may not be roaming in another country because 4G does not operate in the same frequency in all countries. If your phone’s 4G modem does not operate in the same frequency in the second country, then your 3G network can be run and you will be able to use 3G network.
